HISTORY and CURRENT STATUS
Polatli Commodity Exchange, T.C. It was established on April 16, 1984 with the permission of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Following the completion of the organ elections, it became operational on 01 July 1984.
Polatlı Commodity Exchange, which started its operations on July 01, 1984, started to fulfill its functions related to the purchase and sale of the items included in the quotation, determination of prices, registration and announcement with the sales hall services it created.
With the opening of the Polatlı Commodity Exchange, the manufacturers have had the opportunity to sell their products on the basis of samples, at the current market price and with cash price, by auction method in the sales hall of the exchange. As a result of the meeting of supply and demand under favorable conditions and the producers’ evaluation of their products at real prices; The trading volume of our stock market continues to increase every year.
T.C. Polatlı Commodity Exchange also took place within the scope of the Product Exchanges Development Project carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. In 2000, investments were made in computer hardware, laboratory equipment and software automation. As a result of the investments in question, for the first time in our country, quality and classification of cereal products were made in a laboratory environment, and they were bought and sold in a projection and computer aided system. In 2018, with the renovation carried out in the sales hall, the purchase and sale transactions, which were carried out with the voice response system, were started to be carried out in the computer environment by switching to the multi-sale system with touch screens.
At the point it has reached today, the Polatlı Commodity Exchange is the leading exchange that directs the grain trade in a modern, reliable and fast way, where grains are bought and sold every day and prices are formed under completely free market conditions. Our aim is to add value to the country’s economy by taking its place in the markets where forward, option and futures transactions are carried out, of our exchange, which has completed its mission in terms of spot exchange transactions.
Polatlı Commodity Exchange, which does not compromise on its principles and service quality, has ensured its service standard by documenting its works and the services it produces.
- In 2005, it started to provide quality-oriented services by obtaining the TS-EN-ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Certificate.
- Regarding laboratory services, it was accredited by TÜRKAK in 2007 within the scope of TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 Standard and continues its services within the scope of 17025 Standard.
- T.B.B.ca, Polatlı Commodity Exchange was also accredited by being among the first 7 Accredited Exchanges within the scope of the Chamber/Exchange Accreditation System, which was initiated to bring the chambers and commodity exchanges in our country to the level of the chambers in EU member countries and to ensure unity in the service offered. It continues its services with firm steps towards becoming an innovative, progressive, modern and pioneering Stock Exchange.

While our Exchange was the grain market of Haymana, Beypazarı, Ayaş, Sivrihisar and Yunak Districts in the first years, it has become a grain center where producers and traders across the country also evaluate their products in recent years. In 2017, 44.48% of the products coming to Polatlı Commodity Exchange come from Polatlı district and 55.2% from other provinces and districts.
Agricultural production of Polatlı District; It reaches up to 350-400 thousand tons in years when the climate and precipitation are favorable. In 2015, 2016 and 2017, it is seen that the yield is high both in our region and throughout the country. The trading volume of our stock market in 2017 is 803 million TL, and the amount of grain traded is 932,241 tons. This is an indication that our stock exchange addresses a significant part of the Central Anatolia Region. While 26% of the grains traded in the Polatlı Commodity Exchange are traded in the Flour and Feed Factories in our District, 74% of them are marketed by our Members to the Flour and Feed Factories across the country.
The purpose of the Polatlı Commodity Exchange is; Within the framework of the free market principles of cereals, bringing together buyers and sellers in the best conditions and in the most suitable places, to carry the spot and futures transactions supported by modern and technological devices and equipment, to make the stock market capable of serving the whole country, and in the next stage, the World Integration with their exchanges.
The daily prices of the products traded in Polatlı, Konya, Eskişehir and Edirne Commodity Exchanges are transmitted to the Flour Industrialists, Feed Industrialists, Exporters’ Associations, Commodity Exchanges and our stakeholders in the sector on the Web and information is distributed throughout the country. In addition, the daily grain price bulletin on our stock exchange is monitored through our website (www.polatliborsa.org.tr) in Turkey and around the world.
In 2010, the products traded in the sales hall are transferred to T.O.B.B. instantly by creating a T.O.B.B. information network. In addition, daily prices in the sales hall are transferred to the electronic board in the bazaar center of our district, on-line, and made available to the producers of our district. Polatlı Commodity Exchange entered smart mobile phones in 2013 and started to serve our stakeholders in the sector with Google Play and AppStore applications. With this application, Corporate Information, Announcements and News can be followed by our stakeholders and they can instantly see the prices formed in the Sales Hall with the Monthly Bulletin.
